Turnkey design elevator in an apartment building in Ostrava

Did you know that even an elevator can be designed to give an exclusive and designer impression? Even in the case of elevators, there are no limits to imagination. On the contrary, the design and equipment of a passenger elevator can be adapted to various wishes and requirements. And that was the goal when installing an elevator in an apartment building in Ostrava. See how we did it.

A few details are enough and the elevator has an exclusive and designer impression.

Apartment building without barriers

At the beginning of this year, we handled the installation of a new turnkey elevator in an apartment building on Karol Šmidke Street in Ostrava. Thanks to the subsidy to support the removal of barriers, we removed the barrier of the stairs when entering the apartment building and the elevator, when people use the elevator to get from the entrance door of the building to their apartment without having to climb a single step. As the apartment building did not have an elevator before, the project was demanding in terms of the amount of work itself. The first step was the creation of the shaft recess, including its sheathing with Fermacell, which ensured its first-class appearance and the introduction of the electric power supply.

Even the elevator can have an exclusive look

The elevator was designed to have a primarily design effect. At the request of the client, manual shaft doors with large glazing were placed in the elevator, which is not exactly standard for elevators. The customer chose this solution from an aesthetic point of view. The large glass gave the elevator an exclusive look and increased its utility value. Another design issue of this project was the stair handrail, which was designed in brushed stainless steel. Just like the interior of the cabin, which is dominated by a backlit control panel. The cabin sheathing was made of decorated stainless steel, with its main advantages including maintenance. This is because the surface does not get smeared and no fingerprints remain on it.

A large elevator can also be created in the new space

The entire installation took place quickly and without major complications. We owe this primarily to the excellent teamwork of individual professions and thorough pre-installation preparation. The only challenge was the relocation of the hydrant, which was in the floor plan of the new elevator shaft. But even with that, our experienced and well-coordinated team handled it smoothly. Thanks to this, we handed over the order, which we had won in a tender competition, in just two months. In the five-story apartment building, we acquired a relatively large space to build a new elevator, and thus we were able to create an elevator that can fit up to 7 people.

Given the fact that there was no elevator in the apartment building until now, we had to prepare the hollow of the shaft, including its sheathing and the inlet of the electricity supply.
